A Different Stage of Mind in support of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health

Several local capital business leaders and philanthropists came together last night with a vision of charitable giving and community development, hosted by the Lift Foundation.  Their chosen charity was The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.  Their chosen format, a comedy / variety show including local "celebrities" such as Aik Alifers, Barbara Crook, Paul Hindo, and Jim Orbain.  They portrayed the characters of Billy Joel, Julie Andrews, Jordan Heavyfoot (Gordon Lightfoot), Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline, Ritchie Valens, and more.  Special appearances were made by "Johnny Carson and his sidekick", and by the all female comedey group, She Said What.  This event took place at the beautiful Shenkman Centre.  Donations can be made at the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.  The show was produced by Zed Events and photographed by yours truly.

Melanie & Erick

Here are a few photos from a wedding I photographed this summer at Beantown Ranch, another one of my favourite spots.  We were lucky enough to get well bloomed sunflowers!  The horses sure liked Melanie's dress!

Melissa & Brent

I found out during their speeches that Melissa has a thing, no, an obsession, for cleanliness.  So Brent was really surprised when Melissa posed for me in all of the places I suggested.  This list included laying down on the somewhat dirty rocks around the Elgin street underpass beside the canal!  Well, the results turned out great.  Thanks Melissa!  I also want to thank Joan-Anne of Viva La Wedding for her excellent skills of making the National Arts Centre look great, including a super candy buffet!

Fall Wedding @ Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farms

 Here are some photos taken at Marie-Claude & Martin's fall wedding @ Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farms.  This is one of my favourite spots to shoot in the fall.  There are so many maple trees around, and in the fall it is beautiful.  MC & Martin were very easygoing and great to work with!

Chateau Montebello

Here is a photo from a wedding I recently photographed at the Chateau Montebello.  The Chateau has a lot of beautiful spots to photograph, but this Cinderalla bride took it one step further.  She hired a horse and buggy to add to her Cinderalla theme.

Unigirl Canada

Okay, I know, I have been bad.  I haven't blogged for a year!  I hereby make a very ambiguous pledge to start blogging a lot more.  I'll start off with a shoot that luckily fell into my lap about 2 weeks ago.  Normally, I photograph a lot of weddings, family portraits, baby photos and political portraits.  Well, I got a call from Unigirl Canada, a relatively new company  that creates bikini calendars for Universities across Canada.  They needed a photographer......who am I to refuse a job?  I have to say the work was fun and it tested my creativity as far as creating environmental portraits, and working in pretty cold conditions. Kudos to the very brave girls who posed outdors on very cold concrete in 12 degreee weather! 

Walker Family in the park

Had a great time with the beautiful Walker family. They were all together in Ottawa for thanksgiving from Edmonton & Toronto, and the leaves were at their peak for fall colours. They decided it would be a great time for some family portraits, and they had a great time taking them!

Here is a great shoot with a very happy couple, Chantal & Marc, who are getting married at Manderley on the Green Golf Course in October. Chantal is still trying to figure out who Marc love the most, her, or the Mustang!
